How Our Paths Cross
What you see pictured are three women (and a baby) on three different walks of life, literally in three different states! But here we are, in the same spot, at the same time, on the same new adventure!
A few months ago the three of us women started exploring the White Clay Creek Trails. This photo was from the Tri-State trail where you can find a marker at the corner of Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. Here we stood in three different states, while on the same spot. Afterward I quickly thought about what brought us three together, my personal faith journey, where I am now, and all the friends (very different from myself) I’ve made along the way.
It’s crazy to think how different people are. Different locations, ages, interests, points of view, upbringing, styles, families, homes, education, opinions….the list goes on.
But when we look, we’ll see similarities. It could be a belief, a sport, a school, or a hobby. Despite the differences, that one similarity can bring interests, understanding, communion, friendships, and fun. It can bring us more than we could ever imagine!
God makes our paths cross with each other in various ways. Some people’s paths run parallel and stay with us. Some cross, never to be seen again. Some weave in and out with great joy and purpose each time. Can you think of how that might be true in your life? How is your path crossing with someone else for their benefit?
God tells us to love one another:
1 John 4:11-13 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his spirit.
To join in fellowship:
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
Romans 1:12 That is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.
To be together:
1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
I think we all know how hard it can be to show love to ALL. A wonderful place to start is in church! Most of us can say we have a commonality in faith. All of us can say we are in the same spot at the same time. Join us on a Sunday morning. Join a women’s group. Connect within the church. There are links below for service and group information.
See the similarities, focus on the fun! The three women above went on a hike one day. We are three different women, in three different states, in the same spot, at the same time, on the same fun adventure…and we didn’t even get lost!
